DEACONESS FAMILY DINNER 2026

The Board of Deaconesses will be hosting the 34th Annual Deaconess Family Dinner, its sixth Grab & Go style event, on Sunday, October 18. This year, we honor the life and service of our Deaconesses Emeritae, Eleanor Banks, Kathryn Brooks, Sandra Caviness, Dorothy Smith, and Martha Ward.

Meal orders will be taken in advance through Sunday, October 11. Dinners are $35 each. Pick-up will take place in the fellowship hall from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details and to place an order, go to our Eventbrite page.

SHROVE TUESDAY

Our Lenten and Holy Season activities begin with a celebration of Shrove Tuesday. The Progressive Adults Ministry hosts a Sunday Brunch on February 15 after the worship service. Shrove Tuesday, on February 17, is the feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. A pancake supper has been a Nineteenth Street tradition for more than 30 years. All attending the Sunday worship service are invited to partake.

LENTEN WORSHIP SERVICES

Join us at noon Wednesdays for virtual services during this time of reflection, repentance, and preparation for Resurrection Sunday. The worship services take place on Zoom, lasting one hour. Dates and speakers this year are:
